Culture and Society
Orruks live in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. They have small village bases and often roam the land around them for game and edible plants. Sometimes hunting parties will be gone for half a month chasing bigger prey. There is no formal hierarchy among Orruks, and respect is mostly earned through the usefulness of one’s skills. The exception to this is Orrukan Shamans.
Shamans are universally revered by orruks, and are seen as the connection between orruk and deity. They roam in groups of three to seven, with an entourage. When they find a village they may stay the night and then continue traveling, or they may settle and stay there for a while. Orrukan history is oral in form, remembered and passed on in stories of the tribes. Shamans know and share many of these stories, spreading the tales of one tribe to another.
